Number of properties managed for landlords doubles in just two years

Gro Residential Management is celebrating having doubled the number of properties managed on behalf of landlords in just under two years – and we are now expanding our services wider afield having strengthened our team.

The business has seen rapid expansion over the past 24 months, driven by manager Helen Everritt, with the team working hard to make the business stand out from the competition.

“We’ve had a fantastic two years of continued growth which we have been delighted with,” she said.

“The last 12 months have been particularly strong, and I think that is just down to us placing a real focus on getting our services right for both landlords and tenants.”

Business has boomed since move and rebrand

Miss Everritt says she feels the business has continually grown since rebranding to Gro Residential Management in March 2022, coinciding with a move to the Garness Group’s headquarters on Hull’s waterfront.

“We’ve seen steady growth since we rebranded and moved, and the work has been coming to us through recommendations between landlords, which is really pleasing as it reflects that we have a good reputation within the industry,” she said.

Miss Everritt says the business has been instructed by a number of landlords who have become frustrated with the service provided by management companies they have previously used, who perhaps ‘take their eyes off the ball’ with regards to existing clients.

“Our priority has always been to focus on our current clients and make sure they benefit from a first class service, and I think that approach has stood us in good stead, as you can always improve,” she said.

“There is always a danger in any kind of business, but particularly one such as ours where you are managing high-value assets for clients, that you can take your eyes off the ball by focusing on securing the next contract and new customers, which causes a loss of focus on doing a good job for those you already represent.

“I’ve certainly picked up that frustration from some of the landlords who have turned to us in recent times, who feel service levels and communications have dropped, or have had issues over areas of compliance, with is so important to get right.

“We focus on developing strong relationships with the landlords we are instructed by, and their tenants, and that in turn has led to our business growing by word of mouth. We have established a reputation for providing first-class advice and support,”

Team strengthened to meet demand

Gro Residential Management added to its customer-facing team this year to meet the increasing demand with the appointment of Chloe Parker as full-time Lettings Administrator, having worked in a part-time role for a period of time.

She has experience in the residential lettings and property sector and supports landlords with rental valuations, managing tenant relationships and in ensuring properties are maintained to the highest standards.

The business brought some of Hull’s most luxurious apartments to market earlier this year at The Academy, in George Street, which boasts a mix of furnished and unfurnished one and two-bedroomed apartments.

It also manages and lets properties in Hull’s King William House, the Queens Court building adjacent to Queen’s Gardens, Kings Parade in Cottingham, East Yorkshire and Anlaby House, Anlaby.

Now, with Garness Group increasingly developing its presence in York, having brought the long-established commercial property business Barry Crux & Company into the group, Gro Residential is also targeting the city for future growth.

“York would be an excellent market for us, especially now that we have a business presence in the city. We believe, with our levels of service, we can replicated what we have in East Yorkshire," Miss Everritt added.
